PoE switch sizing | Check the real power budget ⚡

An 8-port switch does not automatically mean it can power any eight cameras. Check the relevant IEEE PoE type and per-port output, each device's specified power draw, the switch's total PoE budget, cable design and sensible headroom.

My NonStop's V3.17 PoE guide also recommends validating power availability against the actual manufacturer datasheet and taking the installation and backup-power plan into account. Different models have different limits.

CCTV and customer privacy

Agree on who can access footage, why it is recorded, how long it is kept and how access is reviewed. Avoid placing cameras where people reasonably expect privacy.
