Bari in November. Better than summer?
There’s a different side to Bari once the summer crowds have gone.
The streets of Bari Vecchia return to their everyday rhythm. Restaurants feel more intimate, the seafront is quieter, and the city belongs to its residents again.
November also brings some of Puglia’s most distinctive traditions. The first freshly pressed olive oil, the arrival of seasonal dishes such as orecchiette with cime di rapa, and San Martino, when new w**e is traditionally enjoyed with roasted chestnuts.
The days are shorter, the weather less predictable, and the beaches are no longer the main attraction.
But for those who come for the culture, the food and the pleasure of experiencing a city at its own pace, November has a particular appeal.
Is it better than summer? That depends on what brings you to Bari.
