Yesterday afternoon, at York Auction Centre, we hosted candidates from across Yorkshire who are preparing to sit their CAAV - Central Association of Agricultural Valuers exams this November.

With the expert help of Will Amos, we went through how to describe and value various items of machinery and produce that are commonly found on farms.

Thank you to Will and good luck to everybody sitting their exams this year!

New registration requirements are on the way for Yorkshire landlords.

As part of the Renters' Rights Act reforms, landlords will be required to register themselves and their rental properties on a new national Private Rented Sector (PRS) Database.

For landlords in Yorkshire and the Humber, registration opens on 15 April 2027, with a deadline of 14 July 2027.

In her latest blog, Mary Foster, Senior Surveyor at StephensonsRural, explains what the database means for landlords, how much registration will cost and what steps can be taken now to prepare. 👇🏽

A brilliant time at the Women in Farming Autumn Gathering today.

Lizzy, Mary, Joanna and Sarah from the StephensonsRural team enjoyed a fantastic day at The Garden Rooms at Tennants catching up with familiar faces, making new connections and hearing from some inspiring women working across the farming and agricultural sector.

Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Women in Farming Network, the event brought together people from across the rural community to share experiences, career journeys and ideas.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising another great event!
