📢 LANDLORDS: IMPORTANT ACTION REQUIRED
England’s new ‘Register your rental property’ service launches on 15 December 2026, with mandatory registration introduced region by region.🏠 Landlords must start and complete their own registration, even if their property is managed by a letting agent.
Agents will be able to provide certain information with your authorisation, with further guidance due before launch.
📅 Key registration deadlines for our landlords:
• Yorkshire and Humber: 14 July 2027
• North West, including Greater Manchester and Oldham: 14 August 2027
• North East: 14 September 2027
Eligible properties in any region can be registered from 15 December 2026.
Your deadline depends on where your rental property is located.💷 Published fee: £65 per property per year, with annual renewal required and fees adjusted proportionately during rollout.
✅ What should you do?
• Add your regional deadline to your calendar.
• Prepare your property details, tenancy information and safety certificates.
• Register yourself and each eligible property before the relevant deadline.
• Provide your managing agent with your Landlord Registration Number and each Property Registration Number as soon as you have registered, clearly identifying the matching property address.
The initial requirements cover assured and regulated tenancies, including properties becoming let during rollout. Unoccupied properties are not included at this stage, and qualifying supported exempt accommodation is exempt.
