Stirling House by Mountford Williamson Architecture brings a thoughtful architectural presence to the Adelaide Hills, with three connected pavilions carefully positioned among the existing mature trees.

Dark metal cladding and expansive glazing create a striking contrast against the surrounding greenery, while warm timber decking and natural stone bring texture and warmth to the home.

The footprint follows the natural contours of the site, preserving the established landscape and allowing the architecture to sit comfortably within its botanical setting.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK

As daylight fades, this home takes on a completely different character.

In this project, lighting has been used to pick out the details that make the architecture stand out. A soft grazing light brings texture to the oversized timber entry door, while carefully positioned spotlights draw the eye along the beams, steelwork and timber eaves.

The lighting doesn’t compete with the architecture. It gives the structure another presence after dark.
