Meet Cher Gerbaldi 👋💙

Cher joined First People Housing in September as a Support & Development Worker, bringing two years of experience in supported housing and recently completed university studies in Social Sciences, specialising in Criminology.

For Cher, good support starts with getting to know each person, understanding what matters to them and helping them make positive changes at their own pace.

We caught up with her to hear how she’s settling in, what a typical day involves and whether the role is what she expected.

Our support is growing. First People now supports women too.

We’re pleased to share that women are now receiving support through First People, as we extend our supported accommodation services to women alongside our existing work with men.

Across Hatfield and Stevenage, we provide safe, structured accommodation and personalised support, helping residents build stability, confidence and independence.

A well-deserved congratulations to Tallulah and Amy! 💙👏

A few months ago, Amy and Tallulah stepped into Team Leader roles at First People, and we’re delighted to give them a proper shout-out.

As First People continues to grow, they’re helping to lead our expanding team and supporting colleagues in their work with the men living in our supported accommodation.

A new chapter in the making.

Richard is searching for new premises for The Hideout Collective, a workshop where men from First People can get hands-on, share skills and work together on Bramble and Jonge Jan.

The aim is to bring both boats together at one base, with space for the projects and the team to grow.

A new home for The Hideout Collective’s next chapter. 💙

Richard is on the lookout for new premises, with the aim of creating a workshop where men from First People Housing can get hands-on with our boat projects.

The plan is to bring Bramble and Jonge Jan together at the new base—somewhere to work on the boats, share skills and tackle projects as a team.

We’re still searching for the right place, but we’re looking forward to what comes next.
