We were originally called out to investigate damp at this property, but once our team looked beneath the flooring, we uncovered something more.

Our investigation revealed:
• Wet rot affecting the timber
• Weevil activity beneath the floor
• Hidden issues that weren't visible during the initial inspection

This is why properly investigating the source of damp is so important. Sometimes the visible signs are only part of the problem.

Dry rot treatment in progress - bringing this property back together.

Dry rot can cause serious damage to timber if left untreated, which is why identifying and treating the affected areas is essential.

• Lifted the flooring to access the affected areas

We’ve made good progress on this property, with the preparation and membrane installation stages now complete.

So far, our team has:

• Hacked off the affected areas
• Installed the damp-proof membrane
• Boarded the walls ready for skimming

The next step is the final skim finish, bringing the walls closer to a clean, finished surface.

We’ll share another update once the job is complete.
