It's Bonfire Night! 🎇
Here are our top tips for preparing your land for Bonfire Night:
🔥 Clear the area – Remove dry leaves, grass cuttings and other flammable materials from around your bonfire area.
🌳 Protect your trees and hedgerows – Keep bonfires well away from trees, hedges, fences and overhanging branches to prevent accidental damage.
🦔 Check for wildlife – Before lighting a bonfire, check carefully for hedgehogs and other wildlife that may be sheltering in the pile.
🚜 Keep access clear – Make sure tracks, gateways and access routes remain clear for emergency vehicles and farm machinery.
💧 Be prepared – Keep water or suitable firefighting equipment close at hand, and never leave a bonfire unattended.
🌱 Look after your land – Avoid burning near valuable grassland, crops or sensitive habitats, and always check local restrictions before lighting a fire.
At Weldon Beesly, we know how important it is to look after your land all year round. A little preparation goes a long way towards keeping your land, livestock and local wildlife safe.
