Benjamin Moore is joining the green trend for 2027. They has just announced Webster Green HC-130 as their Color of the Year, a dark green quite different from the softer greens chosen by other brands for 2027.

Webster Green comes from their Historical Color Collection, so it’s not a new shade created for 2027. I find that interesting because it’s the kind of classic green that doesn’t seem to belong to any particular decade, it can look good in a traditional home or in a modern one.

I can see it as a choice for a living room, office or on kitchen cabinetry. I particularly like how it’s been used on the built-in bookshelves in the photo. It gives them character, especially when the walls and the shelves are all painted the same color.

When it comes to combinations, I’d choose warm whites, natural wood and brass. Benjamin Moore suggests pairing it with soft blue, dusty pink, copper and deeper earthy shades. I think those combinations could be really interesting, especially if you want a classicfeel.

I like the variety of greens we’re seeing for 2027. The lighter ones have their charm, but Webster Green shows how beautiful a deeper, traditional green can be.

Last week was that time of year again when Valencia is all about design, thanks to Feria Hábitat. I’ve been attending the fair for several years now, and I always look forward to seeing what’s new, especially when it comes to color.

There’s always so much to see at Feria Hábitat, and this year was no exception. I’m always particularly interested in seeing how color is used and combined in different ways, and I loved seeing so much variety

I’ve put together my favorite color observations in my latest blog post. You can find it on my website or through the link in my bio.

Dunn-Edwards has announced French Press Coffee DEBN07 as its Color of the Year for 2027 and I have to say, the name couldn’t be more perfect. It’s a deep coffee brown with a subtle plum undertone that gives i more depth than a typical dark brown.

What I like about French Press Coffee is that it can work as a neutral. It has the depth of black or charcoal, but feels warmer and softer

I can see it working beautifully in a bedroom, office or dining room if you want a darker feel. I also like the idea of using it on kitchen cabinetry or interior doors.

There are so many good colors to pair it with. Cream and warm neutrals eould keep things simple, and olive green, dusty pink, terracotta or ochre wouldbring in more color. I personally love it with warm neutrals and aged brass.

The more I look at French Press Coffee, the more I ❤️ it. It feels rich and warm without being too heavy. I’d happily work with this one.

Some of the trends I noticed at Feria Hábitat this year.

Many of them aren’t new. We’ve been seeing them for a few years now, and I have a feeling they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. And I actually think that’s a good thing. We don’t need to move from one trend to another every year or feel like we constantly have to change our homes.

One thing I did notice more this year was the influence of the 70s. Retro shapes, patterns and little references kept popping up in so many different stands, and I loved seeing that.

I’m leaving color out of this one because there’s a lot to say about that too, so I’ll save it for another post.

So nothing dramatically new, but plenty of things I was happy to see sticking around.

Yesterday evening, Orac and Material Bank brought us together for a lovely workshop on the rooftop of Hotel Centenari, with lots of materials to discover, ideas to exchange and new things to learn.

We got to explore different samples and combinations and simply enjoy talking design in a really relaxed atmosphere, with some pretty spectacular views over Valencia.

A lovely continuation of a day already filled with design at Feria Hábitat.

Glidden has announced Artifact as its 2027 Color of the Year, and this time we have a warm blue. It’s a familiar kind of blue with enough grey and warmth to make it feel soft and easy to live with.

What I like about Artifact is that it can almost work as a neutral. It brings color into a room without taking over, and I can see it fitting easily with different styles and with things you may already have in your home.

I think it would work well in a bedroom, home office or living room, but I also like the idea of using it on kitchen cabinets. And if you really like it, Artifact is definitely a color you could use for color drenching

Artifact is also easy to pair with other colors. Creams, beiges and natural materials would keep things soft, but I’d be tempted to add something richer like a dark red, deep purple or even a dusty pink.

For me, this is one of those colors that feels calm and familiar, but definitely not boring. And I think that makes it very easy to imagine in a real home.

After all the greens we’ve been seeing in the Color of the Year picks for next year, Graham & Brown is taking us in a completely different direction with pink.

Rose Earth is a warm, dusty pink with soft brown and clay undertones. It sits somewhere between dusty rose, terracotta and a warm neutral, which I think makes it much easier to use than a more obvious pink.

I can see Rose Earth working beautifully in a bedroom, living room or even a bathroom. Wood, stone, linen and warm neutrals would be easy partners, but I personally love it combined with olive or sage green or deep blue to give it more contrast.

What I find interesting about Rose Earth is how much it can change with the light. In bright natural light, more of the dusty pink comes through, while in lower light it can look warmer and lean more towards taupe and terracotta. Definitely another color I’d want to test before committing to it.

I have a soft spot for dusty pinks, so this one was probably always going to get my attention. And I really like that it brings pink into a room without making the whole space feel too pink. Would you use it?

Sherwin-Williams announced its 2027 Color of the Year just yesterday, and apparently green isn’t done with us yet🙂. This time though, we’re moving into something light and fresh.

Celery SW 6421 is a pale green with soft yellow undertones. It feels clean and playful without crossing into anything too bright.

I can see Celery working really well in a kitchen, kids room or a small bathroom, especially with natural wood and whites. But I wouldn’t necessarily play it safe with this color. Sherwin-Williams pairs it with deeper greens and blues, but also red, plum and purple, and I think some of those less obvious combinations could make it much more interesting.

The yellow undertone is probably what I find most interesting about Celery. Depending on the light and the colors around it, it can feel soft and calm or more lively, so this is definitely another one I’d test in the actual room before making a decision.

The more I look at Celery, the more I like it. It is a really fun color to work with. Would you give it a try?

Another 2027 Color of the Year is in and I have to say, I wasn’t surprised to see a sage green make the list. It’s one of those colors that seems to have found a permanent place in interiors.

Dulux has chosen Soulful Sage as its Color of the Year for 2027, a soft green with a slightly muted look. There’s enough grey in it to keep it delicate, but it still reads as green. it’s subtle enough to live with it every day, but still brings noticeable color into a room.

I can see Soulful Sage working well on walls or cabinetry, especially if you want to bring some color into a room without going too bold. It can work beautifully with natural wood and warm neutrals, but I also like the idea of pairing it with deeper greens, ochres or soft pinks for a little more contrast.

Light is worth paying attention to here. It can look quite different depending on the light, appearing fresher and greener in some rooms and softer and greyer in others, so I’d definitely test it in the room before making a decision.

For me, Soulful Sage feels like one of those easygoing colors that could work in many homes. I have a feeling it will be a yes for a lot of people.

Another 2027 Color of the Year has been announced, and this time we’re looking at a warm, earthy terracotta. As more picks are revealed, it’s interesting to see what they keep telling us about the colors we’ll be seeing in interiors next year.

Dutch Boy Paints has chosen Deep Rooted as its Color of the Year for 2027, a warm terracotta with brown undertones which gives it more depth and less orange than a typical terracotta. It works beautifully with natural wood, warm neutrals and deep greens, and I can picture it in a dining room, on paneling or even kitchen cabinetry.

I can also see Deep Rooted changing quite a bit with the light. In a bright room its warmer terracotta side would come through more, while lower light could make it feel deeper and browner. So pay attention to the light in your room and always test the color before committing to it.

Definitely a color with personality. Would you find a place for it in your home?
