Of course we knew this goes on. Didn’t know there was as a name for it. None of below applies to our listings.

Housefishing is a play on the online dating term catfishing, but applied to real estate. It refers to the practice of using heavily edited or AI-generated photos in property listings to make a home look dramatically better than it actually is in real life.
Buyers fall in love with the online listing, only to show up for a tour and realize they've been tricked.

Common Tactics Used in Housefishing
AI & Virtual Staging Overreach: Shrinking the scale of digital furniture to make small rooms look spacious, or adding modern fixtures that don't exist.
Digital Flaw Erasure: Editing out foundation cracks, water stains, mold, peeling paint, or damaged flooring.
Removing Unfavorable Surroundings: Photoshop-editing out power lines, dirty neighboring yards, busy traffic, or nearby commercial buildings.
Curb Appeal Enhancements: Adding lush digital lawns, non-existent landscaping, or completely changing the exterior siding/paint digitally.
