Our residents enjoyed a tour filled day today, with visits to Waterloo Fire Station 2, and the Toyota plant in Cambridge!

During our fire station tour we had the pleasure of meeting the new fire chief.

We also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at the Toyota plant and seeing how vehicles are made.

A big thank you to both teams for welcoming us and making it such an interesting day!

Our residents enjoyed a lovely Mystery Tour yesterday! We took a colourful drive to Elora where we enjoyed lunch at Handsome Devil Bistro, and explored local history at The Wellington County Museum and Archives.

No Mystery Tour would be complete without a stop at Sittler’s Home Baking in Conestogo.

We can’t wait to see where the next mystery tour takes us!

We’ve been celebrating the season in true KW style here at Chartwell Westhill! We welcomed the KW Oktoberfest Wunderwagen for some Oktoberfest cheer. We also welcomed The Dynamic Duo, for some more singing and dancing.

We gathered for a lovely Thanksgiving Tea, and took some time to enjoy good company and reflect on all of the things that we are thankful for this year.

With lively entertainment, delicious pretzels, and plenty of dancing, it’s been a wonderful way to celebrate the season.

From Oktoberfest celebrations to Thanksgiving traditions, we’re grateful for the moments that bring our community together. We hope you all had a lovely time celebrating with your families.

A beautiful way to brighten our home for Thanksgiving!

Thank you to Leanne and Sharon from Joy Blooms in St. Clements, for generously donating some beautiful flower arrangements to our residence. It has brought so much colour and joy as we head into the Thanksgiving season.

We’re especially grateful that a resident’s family member connected them to us. What a wonderful connection to our community! We’re excited to continue this new connection, as they’ll be joining us for a floral workshop with our residents soon!

Another wonderful book club gathering 📕

Today we reflected on The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah—a heartbreaking yet deeply hopeful story that brought us right into Elsa’s world. We felt the dust, the hardship, the heartbreak, but most of all, we admired Elsa’s quiet strength and incredible resilience.

What we love most about these mornings is that the books give us a reason to gather, but it’s the friendships, laughter, stories and meaningful conversations that make them so special. We leave each month with a little more connection, a little more perspective, and so much gratitude for this group. ❤️

Yesterday was one of those days that remind us why community matters so much.💕

Our Cruisin’ For A Cause Car Show was truly something special.

With the perfect summer weather, rows of beautiful classic cars, wonderful car owners, and our Westhill residents, tenants, families, friends and guests all coming together, there was a feeling of joy everywhere you looked.

But it wasn’t just about the cars. It was about the memories they brought with them.

We heard things like, “That was my first car,” and “I learned how to drive in that vehicle.” Conversations sparked memories, stories were shared, and strangers became friends as everyone gathered around these incredible pieces of history.

There was something so heartwarming about seeing generations come together - families, friends, neighbours and our Westhill community sharing stories, laughter and a little bit of nostalgia.

A huge thank you to our Food Service Team for an incredible BBQ and for helping bring everyone together around the table. And thank you to every resident, tenant, family member, friend, volunteer, car owner and team member who helped make the evening such a success.

And then there’s the part that makes our hearts even happier…

We have officially surpassed $1000.00 raised for Chartwell Wish of a Lifetime!

What started as a car show became so much more. It became an evening of connection, memories, generosity and community.

Thank you for making Cruisin’ for a Cause a day we won’t soon forget. ❤️
