Could the U.S. Midterm Elections Help Revive Toronto’s Real Estate Market? 🏡

As November 3 approaches, I'm watching the American midterm elections closely. Could the results help restore confidence in Toronto's housing market?

Here's what I'm looking for:

🔹 Political stability: A Democratic victory in Congress could provide greater oversight of U.S. trade policies and potentially reduce economic uncertainty.

🔹 Better Canada–U.S. relations: Fewer trade tensions could encourage investment and economic growth.

🔹 Lower borrowing costs: More stable economic conditions could help create an environment for more affordable mortgages.

🔹 Stronger employment: Job security gives Canadians the confidence to make major financial decisions.

🔹 Renewed buyer confidence: Buyers need certainty, sellers need realistic expectations, and investors need opportunities that make financial sense.

🔹 A possible recovery in 2027: If trade relations improve, employment strengthens and borrowing costs ease, Toronto real estate could regain momentum.

My perspective?

I don't believe we need another housing frenzy. We need a healthy, balanced market where buyers buy, sellers sell, and real estate once again inspires confidence.

🇨🇦 What happens in Washington doesn't stay in Washington.

What a beauty!

Last week I talked about how Goderich is one of Ontario's premium towns.

This week, my clients bought a gorgeous home there!

Built in 1880, this charming 3-bedroom home captured everything they were looking for: character, a mature garden, private parking, high ceilings, and a location just steps from the lake.

Summer in Ontario means working with Buyers/Friends in Goderich!!!!
Yes, we’re facing multiple offers, and average prices for 3-bedroom homes that need renovating hovering around the mid-600s.

Goderich is very pretty, with its main square (it’s actually an octagon) attracting visitors from all directions, the quaint harbour, with lighthouse and beach. The old train station is now a restaurant. Homes in this area can go back to the early 1800s.

Yes, I did go up the 179 steps to the lighthouse, and yes I did plunge into the cold but clear blue lake.

Goderich has an affluent, professional community as well as older, retirees. Its main industries are salt mine, health care, and tourism. It is an excellent town for easy rentals to locals/tourists.

The boardwalk with its historical plaques is my favourite. It’s easy to imagine where Canada’s pioneers first strutted and it was an honour to steps into their shoes if only with a quick flash of imagination.
