PART 2 OF 6: ONTARIO’S NEW RENTAL RULES 🏡
Did you know you could be caught up on rent and still face eviction proceedings for paying late?
Under Ontario’s new rules, paying rent more than 7 days late, at least 3 times within 6 months, can be considered persistent late payment.
Even if you eventually pay everything you owe, your landlord may still have grounds to apply to the Landlord and Tenant Board to end your tenancy.
But eviction isn't automatic. Landlords must still follow the proper notice and LTB process.
