Buying a home in the GTA this fall or winter? 🍂🏡

Some things may be harder to properly check before closing.

The pool may already be covered.
The sprinkler system may be shut down.
The A/C may not be tested in cold weather.
Snow can hide parts of the roof, grading, driveway and landscaping.

That doesn’t mean there’s a problem — but it does mean buyers should know what was actually inspected and what couldn’t be fully checked.

Cold weather can also work in your favour. It may make drafts, uneven heating, window condensation and cold rooms much easier to notice.

Before making an offer, ask:

✔️ What couldn’t be tested?
✔️ Are maintenance or repair records available?
✔️ How old are the major systems?
✔️ Are there seasonal features you won’t be able to properly evaluate until spring?

Winter isn’t necessarily a bad time to buy.

You just need to know what you’re buying — and what you still don’t know.
