Congratulations to our Fort Frances team under the leadership of Mitch Lepage for completing the newest space in The Fort’s Wellness District.

Phase Two of the Giishkaandago’Ikwe Health Services development is now complete and ready to welcome the Public Health team.

Spanning 6,000 square feet, the finished space includes eight offices, two clinical spaces, a large boardroom, two washrooms, a staff room with kitchenette, and an open area for workstations.

đź©·đź’™ A HUGE THANK YOU TO BIOVELD NORTH CANADA IN ESPANOLA! đź©·đź’™

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bioveld Canada for accepting my very last-minute request to illuminate the Espanola Mill Falls in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day today, October 15. ❤️

Being able to see our own community take part in Pink & Blue Across Canada, a campaign created through Oak's Tree of Love in loving memory of my son, Oak Beaudyn Noel, means more than words can express. 🌳🕊️

With such short notice, Bioveld didn't have to accommodate this request, but they chose to help us honour babies gone too soon and the families who carry them in their hearts forever.

Thank you, Bioveld, for your kindness, compassion and willingness to make this happen! 🥹🩷💙

Every light is a reminder that these little lives mattered and will never be forgotten.

For Oak. For every baby. For every family. ❤️

BMI is now an official member of the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN).

As Ontario’s largest holder of end-of-use paper mills, we understand that each of the brownfield sites we develop carries embedded energy: historical investments in materials and construction, natural ecosystems, cultural heritage, and the economic and community networks that have grown around it over time.

This embedded energy can be carried forward when legacy infrastructure is transformed into new platforms for innovation. Our membership in the Canadian Brownfields Network is grounded in this perspective, not building new, but building forward.

Healthy communities start with healthy people.

Congratulations to the BMI team members and their families who laced up for the Stratford 5K this weekend. It was great to see our group making time for movement, fresh air and a little friendly challenge together.

Well done team!

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day.

BMI approaches redevelopment with the understanding that the lands and communities connected to its work carry histories, knowledge, and significance that extend far beyond the projects themselves and we remain committed to building partnerships that create lasting value for future generations.

It was wonderful to host the Niagara Business Leadership Series and Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce at Bioveld Niagara’s newly established Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment (HSSE) Office.

Legacy industrial redevelopment is a key part of BMI’s portfolio, and we’re just getting started.

Grateful to our partners at HOPA Ports for helping make Bioveld Niagara a success and for their continued partnership as the site grows.

Sault Ste. Marie, one of Canada’s oldest settlements, is experiencing a revival.
This week, the BMI team is seeing it firsthand during our Annual General Meeting.

Nestled within the Canal District is the 1895 St. Mary’s Paper Mill Tower and Board Mill, a rare remaining example of Industrial Romanesque architecture in Canada, and our headquarters for the week.

In June, BMI signed an MOU with Garden River First Nation and Batchewana First Nation, establishing a joint venture partnership to work towards a new hospitality, conference and cultural destination at the historic Mill Tower.

For BMI, seeing this project reawaken is particularly meaningful. Fondly known as Mill One, the Mill Tower was BMI’s first acquisition in 2012.

This building represents where our story began, and together, we’re helping chart its next chapter as a new destination in Sault Ste. Marie.

Special thank you to the Warrior Bear Drum Group who helped us start the project in a good way.

From Bioveld Port Huron to Bioveld Niagara, last week our investors saw papermaking, heritage hospitality and residential projects, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, the blueprints for a bioeconomy hub and more. They also got to experience the communities surrounding our projects and meet some of our key partners, from government and the private sector to our Indigenous Initiatives team.

And they still didn’t see everything. But they got a glimpse of what transformative development at BMI looks like. Until next year. Tot ziens!
