🇫🇷 What a wonderful week exploring Paris and the beautiful Normandy region of France! Cruising along the Seine River, we enjoyed the breathtaking countryside of northern France and visited the charming towns of Les Andelys, Rouen, Vernon and Le Havre. So much beauty and history everywhere we went!

The highlight for me was visiting Juno Beach, where Canadian soldiers landed on D-Day, June 6, 1944. 🇨🇦

Seeing the historic Canada House, liberated by Canadian soldiers on D-Day, along with a remaining German bunker, a tank, and remnants of WWII still visible in the water, was incredible.

Walking through the Canadian War Cemetery and seeing row after row of headstones was truly humbling. So many young Canadians lost their lives fighting for the freedom we enjoy today. Our tour guides told us the average age was just 19 years old.

We made some wonderful memories, but our visit to Juno Beach is something I'll never forget.

So proud to be Canadian! ❤️🇨🇦

With a very heavy heart, I’m sharing that my mom, Sharon Avery, passed away peacefully at home on August 22.

Mom was quiet and never wanted to be the centre of attention, but she loved being out, seeing people and enjoying life. She was a hard worker all her life. She loved her dogs, a good game of six-handed euchre, classic country music and live shows, and always liked to look her best before heading out the door. Mom grew up with horses and never lost her love for them. She especially enjoyed watching the horse shows at local fairs.

Mom and Wayne shared many happy years together. They loved travelling, camping and spending time with family and friends, and Shar-Way Berry Farm was a big part of the life they shared, working side by side for many years.

I’ll miss her calls, her smile, her quiet way and all the little things you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’re gone. I’m grateful for all the memories we made and for the time we had together.

I loved her and will miss her. ❤️

🏡 Ottawa Real Estate Market Update — May 2026!

Ottawa's housing market isn't moving in one direction right now and that matters whether you're buying, selling, or investing.

Here's a quick snapshot 👇

✅ Single-family homes with a benchmark price essentially flat YOY are still seeing multiple offers on well-priced move-in ready homes in the right neighbourhoods.
✅ Townhomes are seeing prices soften and inventory at its highest May level in years. Buyers, this is your window!
✅ Condos are still the softest segment but showing early signs of life MOM.
🏗️ New construction HST rebate is not law yet but I share my personal take on whether it's already making a difference
🏠 Rental market vacancy is easing and rents are softening. If you're an investor, run fresh numbers before making decisions

Congratulations to Bud Cauley on winning the RBC Canadian Open! 🏆⛳

His victory is about so much more than golf. After a serious car accident in 2018 and 239 PGA Tour starts without a win, he never stopped believing in what was possible.

Some goals take longer than expected. Some journeys include setbacks we never planned for. But persistence has a way of paying off.

🏡 Thinking about selling your home? You've probably heard the term "months of supply," but what does it actually mean?

Months of supply measures how long it would take to sell all available homes at the current sales pace if no new listings came on the market.

📊 Here's a quick guide:

• Less than 3 months = Seller's market
• 3 to 6 months = Balanced market
• More than 6 months = Buyer's market

Right now, Ottawa has approximately 3 months of housing supply. That's higher than this time last year but lower than last month, keeping us in balanced market territory.

But months of supply is only part of the story. Demand is also influenced by factors like interest rates, the economy, the job market, consumer confidence, and the cost of living.

Inventory remains elevated because the pace of home sales in Ottawa has been slower throughout 2026. This means pricing your home correctly, preparing it well, and having a strong marketing strategy matter more than ever.
