🔧💩 MR. FIX-IT STRIKES AGAIN! 😂
Seriously, is there anything this man can't do?!
If you know Jason, you know he won't give up until he figures something out. He's determined, resourceful and maybe just a LITTLE stubborn. 😂
So when the septic alarm went off at the cottage, naturally he was going to figure out what was wrong.
At first, he was worried the roots from our big maple tree might be causing the problem. Thankfully, that wasn't it! Turns out the corrosive gases inside the tank had deteriorated the plastic ties, so he was able to replace them and get everything working again.
Was it a glamorous job? NOPE! 🤢
Did our girls run for their lives the second he lifted that lid? ABSOLUTELY! 😂💨
And naturally, I had to film him!
I get to watch Jason figure things out, fix things and explain how things work all the time. But I'm not sure everyone, including his clients, realizes just how much this man actually knows.
I've watched him walk through clients' homes, notice something that needs attention and just... fix it! Sometimes it's a small thing, but when you don't know what's causing a problem or how to fix it, it can feel like a much bigger deal. I love watching him help people in those moments. You can see the relief on their faces, and for Jason, it's just second nature. He sees something he can help with, so he does. ❤️
I grew up with a dad who is a real-life MacGyver, so I guess I've always had an appreciation for people who can build, repair and figure out just about anything. Not everyone has that ability, and I think it's a pretty incredible quality to have.
I definitely consider myself one lucky wife. ❤️
And not just because Jason can fix things, but because he's the kind of guy who will roll up his sleeves, get down in the dirt and figure it out. Especially if it means helping someone who can't do it themselves.
His attitude is always pretty much the same...
"Let's just do it now. We'll figure it out. No biggie."
And somehow, he usually does! 😂
But there's a good little homeownership lesson here too.
The more you understand about how things work around your home, the better. Whether it's your septic, plumbing, heating or electrical, knowing how to maintain these systems and recognize when something isn't right can save you a lot of money and help things last a whole lot longer. And of course, knowing when it's time to call in a professional is just as important.
So here's a little behind-the-scenes cottage life with Jason explaining how our septic system works and what went wrong.
It's not exactly glamorous content, but it's real life and that's who we are. Just a real family figuring things out, one problem at a time. ❤️
Although some problems definitely smell worse than others! 💩🤣
Not all heroes wear capes. Some lift septic lids while the rest of the family runs in the opposite direction!
❤️ Renée
