PUBLIC NOTICE: MYSTERIOUS CREATURE WATCH

The Twillingate Conservation and Protection Office in Newfoundland and Labrador received reports of a sea monster in local waters. Our scientists are collecting environmental DNA samples to determine if the creature is:

• a giant squid
• an iceberg seen from a strange angle
• fog
• or simply the result of watching too much of the new Netflix series “Below”

As a reminder, giant squids and icebergs are real. Sea monsters remain unconfirmed.

Please exercise extreme caution on the water. Further updates will be provided if the creature is successfully identified, recovered or picked up by Netflix for a second season.

For the first time, we’re putting all 4 of our properties to bed for the Winter. It has been the largest and most successful 2026 season, welcoming beautiful folks from all over! The love was felt from so many, of their appreciation and deep need to disconnect from the noise and buzz of busy lives and slip into natures rhythm, which we’re so rich with here in Newfoundland.

Now, we look forward to taking a little breather over the Winter months and on April 1, 2027 we will reopen for next years season!

This being said, we are still open a couple more weeks. The Fall colours are still peaking and berries in Burgeo are abundant. The same spectacular views only become more revered this time of year because you experience the magic of feeling that you have it all to yourself. So if you’re looking for a last minute getaway in October, our seaside retreats are still here to cater to you. Reach out via private message for a discount on your stay & to avoid Airbnb fees.

A big thank you to all our visitors for making this season so special! As we move into autumn, we are switching to seasonal hours at the Visitor Centre in Rocky Harbour.

Open 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
