🚨 BANK OF CANADA RAISES RATES — BUT WAS THE TIMING RIGHT? 🇨🇦
The Bank of Canada has increased its key interest rate from 2.25% to 2.50%, and further increases could be possible in 2027.
But here’s what concerns me.
With inflation being pushed partly by the energy crisis, Canadians already struggling with affordability, and the U.S. midterm elections just days away, could the Bank have waited for more clarity?
Higher interest rates won’t lower oil prices, but they can make mortgages, borrowing and homeownership more expensive.
Is the Bank preventing a bigger inflation problem, or adding more pressure to an already fragile economy?
