We are hiring a Wastewater Control Officer!

In this role, you are responsible for patrolling assigned areas throughout the City of London and conducting investigations to identify potential contraventions of wastewater- and stormwater-related municipal by-laws. You inspect private residences, industrial and commercial establishments, construction sites, and other locations, and respond to complaints and observations from the public and City staff. You promote and enforce by-law compliance through education, recommendations for resolution, and the issuance of compliance orders, offence notices, or Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs), as appropriate. You also initiate, coordinate, and enforce service disconnections in emergency situations involving by-law violations, oversee testing to identify or confirm non-compliant sewer and stormwater connections, and verify that improper connections are corrected.

We are looking for candidates who have:
• Advanced Community College Diploma in Environmental Technology or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License – Class G.
• Required to be on-call and available to work evenings and weekends.
• Two years of related experience in a lab environment or in environmental monitoring programs including monitoring and sampling experience, equipment handling or maintenance procedures.
• Previous wastewater collection or treatment experience is an asset.
