Grit. Grace. Growth. Gratitude. 🌱

Back in 2018 or 2019, I gave my boss a plant during a really tough time at work.

We used to dote on that plant. Funny enough, whenever things were tough, it seemed to struggle too. We'd give it a little extra love and attention, and somehow it would come back.

When my boss was let go, she gave me the plant. I've cared for it ever since, through different workplaces, challenges and chapters of life.

This week, I realized it had finally died. It made me sad. That little plant held a lot of memories.

When we moved into our current workplace, we were given another plant. It hasn't grown much at all this past year.

And it's been a challenging year, to say the least. Lots of ups and downs, hard days and lessons along the way.

But this week, I noticed something. That plant that hasn't grown all year has several significant new shoots.

I couldn't help but smile at the timing.

One plant has reached the end of its life, and another is finally growing.

Maybe I'm reading too much into a couple of plants, but it got me thinking.

Grit to keep going when things get tough. Grace to accept that some things come to an end. Growth that isn't always obvious while it's happening. And gratitude for the people, places and experiences that got us here.

Not every season is easy. Some are about simply getting through.

But even in the challenging ones, there's still room for a little new growth. 🌱

Auntie pride moment right here. 🏎️ Watching Caleb go from go-karting around Flamborough to racing in F4 — the growth, the grit, the heart he's put into this journey has been incredible to witness.

Today didn't go his way on home soil, but that doesn't change a thing. Proud of you always, Caleb — you're number one in my books. 🏁❤️

Waterloo Region market check — the numbers don't lie 👇
New listings jumped to 209 this week (up from 172), but here's the real story: expired/cancelled listings dropped hard, from 217 to 111. Translation? Fewer sellers are giving up — they're adjusting instead. Price reductions ticked up to 86, and conditional sales climbed to 82.
Sale rate sits at 4.9%, and months of supply eased slightly across the board — still very much a buyer-favoring market, especially in condos (8.3 months supply).
If you're selling: pricing right the first time matters more than ever.
If you're buying: you've still got leverage — use it.

Waterloo Region's market took a breather this week. New listings dropped from 277 to 172 and sales activity cooled too, with sold/pending down to 110 and the sale rate slipping to 5.6%. On the flip side, expired and cancelled listings jumped to 217 and back-on-market properties ticked up — a sign some sellers are recalibrating expectations. The good news: months of supply eased slightly across every category, from detached homes to condos, so the market isn't getting looser, just a bit quieter.
