🏡 A few things I’d never skip when touring a home
It’s easy to get caught up in the beautiful kitchen, fresh paint, and perfectly staged living room. But when I’m touring a home with a client, I’m looking beyond the pretty finishes. 👀
Here are a few things I always pay attention to:
📍 The location: Where is the home situated on the street? Is traffic a concern? How easy is it to get in and out of the driveway? Are there any nearby features that could affect day-to-day living or future resale?
🏠 The exterior: Curb appeal is great, but I’m also looking at overall maintenance, the roof’s appearance, and anything that might need a closer look.
🔎 The details inside: Are there DIY updates that deserve a second look? Any signs of water damage, wear, or maintenance issues we should ask about?
🚿 The water pressure: A quick check in the bathrooms can help flag something worth asking about.
📝 The unanswered questions: What needs clarification? Is something a minor fix, a potential red flag, or simply something that needs a professional opinion?
📐 The layout: Does the home actually work for my client’s lifestyle, needs, and plans for the future?
The goal isn’t to find a perfect house. It’s to help buyers understand what they’re looking at, ask the right questions, and figure out which concerns have solutions and which deserve more investigation.
Because buying a home is about more than falling in love with it. It’s about feeling confident in your decision. ❤️
