Meet Sara Kalke, Edmonton REALTOR®!

Sara has been a monthly donor with YESS for 16 years, showing up for youth in our community month after month.

As part of Donor Appreciation Month, we sat down with Sara for a little Q&A about why she chooses to support YESS, what being a monthly donor means to her and why this work continues to matter after all these years.

We’re so grateful to Sara for her incredible 16 years of support and for believing in YESS and the youth we serve. 💙

We are so incredibly grateful for The Home Depot's generosity and support over the past year. Their support has made a remarkable impact on our organization, and it's truly inspiring to see their commitment to ending youth homelessness.

Beyond the incredible financial contributions, their efforts in fundraising and assisting with our renovations have been invaluable. Thank you for the time and resources your associates have dedicated to helping us and being such a vital part of our mission.

A huge thank you to BILD Edmonton Metro for choosing YESS as the recipient of your Annual Renovation Project!

With the help of 100 volunteers, members, sponsors and supporters, our Youth Support Centre received some incredible upgrades, including a brand-new recreation room, an updated youth dining area and a new bedroom that increases our bed capacity.

These renovations mean more welcoming spaces for youth to relax, connect, share meals and find a safe place to stay when they need it most.

We’re so grateful to BILD Edmonton Metro and everyone who rolled up their sleeves to make this project happen. Your time, generosity and hard work are making a real difference for youth in our community!

If you’ve driven by our Whyte Ave building recently, you might have noticed something new! 👀

We’ve undergone some exciting renovations, and thanks to The Home Depot Canada, our building now has a new fence that gives youth more privacy and a more comfortable space to spend time outside in our yard.

It’s one of the many improvements helping us create a better space for youth at YESS.

Thank you, Home Depot, for helping make it happen!

It’s Thankful Thursday! 💙

Today, we’re giving a huge shoutout to the amazing volunteers who helped make Walk for YESS happen!

From helping with setup and keeping things running smoothly to cheering on walkers and lending a hand wherever needed, you played a huge part in making the day such a success.

We’re so grateful for the time, energy and enthusiasm you brought to the event. Walk for YESS wouldn’t be the same without you!

Thank you for showing up for YESS and for youth in our community.

October 8 is Donor-Advised Funds Day! 💙

So, what exactly is a donor-advised fund (DAF)?

A DAF is a charitable giving account that lets you set money aside for future donations and recommend which registered charities receive grants from the fund.

It can be a flexible way to organize your charitable giving over time.

Swipe through to learn how it works!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports YESS through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)! Your generosity helps ensure youth in our community have access to the support, resources, and opportunities they need to move forward. Thank you for choosing YESS and investing in brighter futures for you.

A huge thank you to Dwayne Robertson and the Samies IOOB Club for their generous contribution to the Adopt-A-Teen program! The cheque presentation on Saturday, September 26, was a wonderful event filled with camaraderie and heartfelt support. Together, we're making a difference!

More than 400 people are part of our monthly donor community. They show up for YESS every month, all year long.

We’re excited to now have a name for this community: The Nest.

To everyone who gives month after month: thank you. Thank you for believing in our work, caring about the youth we serve, and helping make sure YESS is here when they need us.

We’re so grateful to have you in The Nest.

A big thank you to Pixel Blue College for helping bring The Nest to life through their branding work. We’re grateful for community partners who share their creativity and help us celebrate the people who make our work possible. 💙
