Your roof gutters do more than just collect rainwater! They play an important role in protecting your home by directing rainwater and snowmelt toward the downspouts and away from the foundation.

🎒 Schools Are Open Today! 🚸

Students are heading back to school, so please slow down, stay alert, and watch for children and pedestrians—especially around school zones, crosswalks, parks, and residential streets.

As a parent, I want my kids to come home safely every day. I’m sure you want the same for your children, our neighbours’ children, and every student in our community.

Let’s all do our part to make getting to and from school safe for everyone. ❤️

Ineffective air seal (weatherstripping) around the attic access hatch (door) and inadequate insulation contributes to increased heat loss, drafts, reduced energy efficiency, and elevated heating and cooling costs. Air leakage into the attic also increases the potential for condensation and moisture-related concerns.

A Small Roof Defect Can Lead to a Big Problem! 🏠🔍

A recent drone-assisted roof inspection revealed a damaged vent boot/flashing around a roof pe*******on.

While it may look like a minor issue, damaged flashing can compromise the roof’s weatherproofing and allow rain and melting snow to enter the attic—potentially leading to wet insulation, damaged roof sheathing, wood deterioration, and interior water damage.

🔎 The good news? Finding these issues early can help prevent costly repairs later.

At 5G Home Inspection, we use detailed visual inspections and drone technology when appropriate to help identify roof defects that may be difficult or unsafe to see from the ground.

“Don’t worry, we’ll install the humidifier.”

“Great! How do I change the pad later?”

“…”

😅 The humidifier cover is trapped behind the furnace vent pipe, making regular maintenance a challenge.

Just because it’s installed doesn’t mean it’s installed with serviceability in mind.

🏡 New homes and new installations can still have deficiencies. That’s why inspections are important—sometimes the little things become big headaches later. 🔍💧

Think new builds don’t need a home inspection?

A home inspection isn’t just for older homes—it’s for smart buyers who want to know exactly what they’re getting before moving in.

Because discovering issues before possession day is a lot more fun than discovering them after.

🏡 Newly built doesn’t mean perfectly built.

During this inspection, we discovered a kitchen exhaust fan that wasn’t connected—a seemingly small oversight that could lead to excess moisture, indoor air quality problems, poor ventilation, and costly repairs over time.

Even brand-new homes can have construction defects or incomplete installations. A professional home inspection helps identify these issues before they become your responsibility.

🔍 Get informed. Know what you’re buying. Make confident decisions.

Not all problems are visible at first glance.

This home looked spotless, but a possible leak was found at the bathroom wall and bunos room floor. Shiny doesn’t always mean problem-free. 🏠🔍
