There’s a dripping faucet, and then there’s a leaking faucet head. If your pull-out spray nozzle is constantly oozing water, sticking between "stream" and "spray," or spraying water sideways into your face, it’s time for a quick intervention! 🙅♂️💥
Before you panic-buy an entirely new $200 faucet setup, the fix for a leaky spray head is actually incredibly simple. 👇
The Usual Suspects:
🪛 The Loose Connection: Pull-out heads twist and turn every day. Eventually, the connection to the hose loosens up, or the tiny rubber washer inside wears out, causing water to drip down the handle.
🪨 The Calcium Jam: Hard water minerals love to build up behind those tiny spray nozzles. This creates backpressure, jamming the internal "spray-to-stream" button and causing a permanent drip.
The Weekend Warrior Plan:
The Soak: Unscrew the head and drop it into a bowl of warm white vinegar for an hour. It dissolves the crusty buildup and clears the lines! 🛁
The Washer Swap: Check the tiny rubber gasket where the head meets the hose. If it’s shredded, replace it and add a little plumber's tape to the threads
The $20 Cheat Code: If the internal plastic switches are totally broken, you don't need a new faucet. You can buy a universal replacement spray head at the hardware store that twists right onto your old hose in under 30 seconds. 🦾✨
Is your kitchen spray head behaving, or is it due for a vinegar bath?
