Thinking about fixing up your home before putting it on the market? 🏡
Before you spend a lot of money, it's worth knowing which improvements will actually make a difference to buyers.
A few things I often suggest starting with:
• Fresh paint: You'd be surprised what a fresh coat of paint can do! Light, neutral colours help brighten a space and make it easier for buyers to picture their own furniture and belongings in the home. You don't need to repaint everything, either. Sometimes just tackling a few tired-looking rooms is enough.
• Those little repairs: Leaky taps, loose handles, chipped trim, doors that don't close quite right… all those little things we tend to put off! They may seem minor, but buyers notice them. Taking care of these small jobs can help your home feel well looked after.
• A really good clean: Don't underestimate this one! Sparkling windows let in more natural light, and clean kitchens, bathrooms and floors make a great first impression. Decluttering countertops and clearing out a few overstuffed closets can also help rooms feel more spacious.
That big kitchen, bathroom, or basement renovation you've been considering? It might not be necessary.
Every home is different, and sometimes a few simple changes are all you need.
If you're thinking of selling, I'm always happy to have a look and help you decide what's worth doing before you spend the money.
