Toronto board of trade urges Ontario to amend zoning and building code rules to spur housing growth
As a Realtor deeply invested in Toronto’s growth, I’m closely following the Toronto Board of Trade’s recent call for Ontario to modernize its zoning and building code rules. With Ontario potentially falling short of its ambitious target of 1.5 million new homes by over 550,000 units by 2031, it’s clear that outdated regulations are holding back much-needed progress. Standardizing zoning and updating building codes could be a game-changer—cutting costs, reducing delays, and opening up more affordable options for families across our province. Drawing on over a decade of real estate investment experience, I’ve seen firsthand how the right policy shifts can empower families to build strong property portfolios and achieve their dreams. Collaborating toward solutions like these is key to unlocking more opportunities for everyone in our community.
