Full circle moment. 💜🚒
Back on August 30th, our daughter ran a lemonade stand to say thank you to the Brampton Fire Fighters. Today, September 11th, we got to deliver what she raised — $450 for the Lavender Truck Campaign, supporting the William Osler Foundation.
But they didn't just take a cheque and send us on our way. They gave her a full tour of the fire station — and honestly, we learned as much as she did. Firefighters work 24-hour shifts, and the station is basically a second home: they eat there, sleep there, work out, cook, even store groceries for the crew. We had no idea how much of their life happens inside those walls.
They let the kids try on real fire safety helmets, sit in the driver's seat of the truck, and sent us home with fire safety materials to go through as a family — because being ready matters just as much as being grateful.
One of the firefighters said something that stuck with us: this work is about helping the community today, knowing one day the community might need them right back.
To — thank you for your time, your warmth, and for making a 10-year-old feel like her small idea actually mattered. It did. 🙏
