You always know the evening it happens. The light goes early, someone pulls a blanket off the back of the chair, and the fireplace goes on for the first time since spring.

It's a small thing. It's also the whole reason a living room exists.

Every home tells a story. Start yours here.

Mid-October in HRM, from a little higher up.

You can watch a neighbourhood settle into itself this time of year — the treeline turning, the light going gold by four o'clock, everyone home a bit earlier than they were in July.

A walk through one of our semi-detached homes at McIntosh Run Estates. →

Open main floor. A kitchen that actually holds a weeknight. A quiet landing you'll end up using more than you expect. Upstairs, a primary suite with its own ensuite and walk-in.

Modern design, made attainable, in Spryfield.

There's a version of this weekend that happens in every house — chairs pulled from other rooms, someone's coat over the banister, a table that ends up seating more than it was ever meant to.

That's the part we think about when we plan a main floor. Not the square footage. The gathering.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Amara. 🍁

Meet the Ponderosa. 🏡

A two-storey design with a covered front porch and a generous main floor — the kind of plan that gives a family room to spread out without ever feeling cavernous. Set among the trees at Indigo Shores on McCabe Lake.

Now selling.

Step inside The Alpine. ✨

A single-family design that opens up as you move through it — living, dining and kitchen sharing one bright, connected space, with a treed outlook through every window. Considered where it counts, calm everywhere else.

The kitchen light before anyone else is up. The counter that holds the whole morning — lunches, keys, one last coffee.

We design these spaces carefully because this is where the day actually begins.

Every home tells a story. Start yours here.

September has a way of pulling everyone back home — earlier evenings, fuller schedules, the return of the weeknight routine.

At McIntosh Run Estates in Spryfield, our semi-detached homes are designed for exactly that: open main floors, smart layouts, and finishes that hold up to real life.

Behind every home is a long list of people who showed up. Framers, electricians, finishers, site crews, the trades whose work you feel long before you ever see it.

This Labour Day, we're thinking about them. Nothing we build stands without the care they bring to it.

Happy Labour Day from all of us at Amara. 🍁
