Fewer cranes, fuller buildings. 📊
Cushman & Wakefield's third-quarter data shows the apartment market tightening:
🔹 Fewer than 480,000 units are under construction, the lowest since 2015
🔹 About 350,000 units absorbed so far this year, up 14% and the strongest pace since 2021
🔹 Vacancy fell to 8.6%, its third straight quarterly decline
🔹 Asking rents rose 2.3% year over year, and rent growth in the South turned positive
Our take: the South is still the slowest region to recover, but it's moving. With fewer new buildings on the way, we stay focused on what we control: retention, responsive service and disciplined operations.
