THE DEAL: Storytime
They thought they had one house to sell.
It turned out they needed to sell two.
We first met this young family through a referral. With baby number two on the way, they’d already found and purchased their next home privately, but weren’t quite sure how to navigate everything that needed to happen next.
Beth and I helped them prepare their Kingsley home for market, working through what was worth doing, what wasn’t, and how we could best position the property.
The campaign wasn’t completely straightforward. The market was beginning to shift, and understandably, there were some nerves.
But we got there. Multiple offers, a result they were happy with, and what we thought was the final piece of the puzzle.
It wasn’t.
During the process, we discovered their second property in Hammond Park also needed to sell for the numbers on their new purchase to work.
And the clock was ticking.
That property was already listed with another agency, while their private purchase was moving towards settlement.
We helped negotiate more time on their purchase and, once the existing agency agreement had ended, they trusted us with Hammond Park too.
Bethany and I headed south to get things moving, but we also knew our colleague Zeppelin Marwick from our Applecross office was better positioned and knew that market better than we did.
So Zepplen Marwick jumped in alongside us.
Three agents, two offices, one goal: get this family into their new home.
We prepared the property, launched the campaign and worked one-on-one with buyers. By now the market had softened even further, and this was the harder of the two sales.
Eventually, we found the buyer we needed.
Hammond Park sold. It settled. And after months of uncertainty, extensions and the very real worry that their new home might fall over, everything finally came together.
Two sales. One purchase. Three agents. And a growing family finally able to move forward.
Some sales are memorable because of the price.
This one was memorable because of the relief we could bring to a beautiful family, allowing them to get back to what matters.
