HOT TIP: Buying a Home? Don’t Skip the Pre-Settlement Inspection!
A pre-settlement inspection is your opportunity to check the property a few days before settlement and confirm it remains in the same condition as when you signed the contract.
Check that agreed inclusions are still there, fixtures haven’t been removed, and any agreed repairs have been completed.
It’s also a good opportunity to identify any new damage or issues that may have arisen since your last inspection.
If you notice a concern, contact your solicitor or conveyancer before settlement to discuss the appropriate next steps.
A final walkthrough can help avoid unwelcome surprises when you receive the keys!
