On this episode of Behind the Build, we head on-site at Cartmell Street to see how things are taking shape, with one of the people keeping it all on track.

Meet Liam, Project Manager.

With construction now underway, the focus shifts from planning and design to delivery on site.

Day-to-day, he manages the construction program, liaising with consultants, trades and stakeholders, overseeing budgets, and keeping a close eye on site logistics and quality, from mobilisation right through to completion.

For Liam, it comes down to time, quality, and budget. He brings a structured process to a live construction site, staying across every moving part to ensure the vision set by the design team is delivered on the ground to the standard required.

On this episode of Behind the Build, meet Jack — one of the lead designers behind our Cartmell Street development.

Over his 19 years at Hallmarc, Jack has worked across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, bringing a genuine passion for creating spaces that balance thoughtful design with lasting results.

Jack is responsible for the visualisation and design of the façade, shaping the external built form and overseeing architectural details, right down to the material selection.

The design draws on the European courtyard tradition, centred around a sheltered, open-air courtyard housing the main entry and landscaped communal space, with archways and colonnades taking cues from the finer-scale built form of the surrounding neighbourhood.

He has a keen eye for the details that make a difference: the textures, tones, and materials that shape how a project sits within its environment and how people experience it day to day. At Cartmell Street, this is reflected in a pared-back material palette, including Roman Style clay brickwork and textured concrete details that respond to the local residential fabric, adding a tactile yet restrained finesse.

Our breaking ground ceremony in December marked a milestone built on years of collaborative work by our construction, design and development teams.

We recently celebrated our CEO Michael Loccisano’s 20 incredible years at Hallmarc.
 
A driving force behind our growth and culture, his leadership has not only shaped the company we are today, but has instilled the values we live by: collaboration, integrity, and family.
 
When Michael’s father, Ron Loccisano, sold a house to the Cini family, a young migrant family from Malta back in 1967, it became the foundation for a partnership that would see Michael and our founding director, Marc Cini, join forces 20 years ago. 
 
Michael, thank you for bringing out the best in others, leading by example every day and your unwavering dedication and passion over the past two decades.

When we reached out to , we gave a simple brief: transform the wall at 250 Flinders Lane into something vibrant, eye-catching, and full of life that reflects the atmosphere of the surrounding laneways. Talented painter and muralist then brought this vision to life. 
 
‘She did more than visit’ is a striking mural stretching 28 metres long and 5 metres high at its tallest point, spilling effortlessly onto the concrete footpath.
 
It’s been a pleasure working with everyone involved – a collaborative and refreshing group of creative professionals.

Few individuals leave a mark as significant as our General Manager, Joe Italiano. This month marks his 30-year tenure with Hallmarc and we recently celebrated the incredible impact and contributions Joe has made since joining our founding director, Marc Cini, in 1994.

Their collaborative dynamic has laid the foundation of our organisation, shaping how we approach our work and relationships—a legacy that defines Hallmarc to this day. Joe is an influential business leader, but to many of us, he’s affectionately known as ‘Uncle Joe,’ someone you can always turn to for advice and direction.

Thank you, Joe, for your unwavering leadership and dedication over the past 30 years. Your guidance and support have enriched Hallmarc in countless ways. We are truly better for it.
