Mould along the ceiling line of a granny flat kitchen. A specialist’s reports confirmed the mould and moisture but couldn’t trace the leak.

We opened the kitchen up and found it: no flashing along the roofline. Nick fitted it, the room dried out, and the moisture meter came back to baseline before the walls went back up.

Three months, done in stages. Now ready for cabinets and tiling.

A client wanted the built-in wardrobe removed from their bedroom, which left a bare wall in a house lined in pine boards. The catch: that board profile isn't made anymore, so we couldn't buy matching boards. Instead, we took the original boards off the ceiling, relaid them on the wall, and put new pine on the ceiling. The wall now matches the rest of the house. Site supervisor signed off. 🐕

Three years, three completely different jobs — a bathroom renovation in 2024, a fireplace restoration in 2025, and this August, an original door stripped back and restored rather than replaced. Nick's known this client since he was her neighbour in Ballarat. He's based in Melbourne now — she still calls him first.

When a carport shows movement, most tradespeople quote a full rebuild. This client wanted it restored. Rotten posts don't come out on their own — the whole roofline has to be braced and held to precise tolerances while the new structure goes in, or you risk cracking a lot more than what you're fixing. Restored, structurally sound, and primed — the client's doing the paint finish themselves.

As we age, our homes need to adapt with us.

This pensioner couple in Carlton North had two problems at their front entrance — a heavy iron gate that had dropped over the years and was dragging on the ground, and no handrail on the steps leading up to their front door.

Nick rehung and adjusted the gate so it opens and closes with ease, and installed a handrail on the porch steps for confident, safe footing every time.

New blinds installed in a 1930s Fitzroy North home — and suddenly the French door and garden entrance handles wouldn't let them close properly.

Water damage doesn't always start where you think it does.

This Macleod homeowner noticed peeling tiles and moisture pushing through the wall. Nick took one look and knew exactly where to go — straight to the shower screen frame.

The primary breach was a crack in the vertical join between the shower screen frame and the tile. Combined with failed silicone at the base, water had been tracking into the wall cavity slowly and consistently until the damage became visible.

The fix? A full dry-out — no shower for a week — then a complete re-silicone and regrout of the affected areas. No unnecessary tile replacement. Just the right fix for the actual problem.

This is our backyard — and it started with a stub of a rendered BBQ and a basic deck.

Winnie designed the vision and managed the budget. Nick transformed the existing benchtop into a fully functional alfresco kitchen — adding a sink with hot and cold water, timber cabinet doors, a built-in beverage fridge, and storage throughout. The louvred pergola was supplied by a contractor and installed by Nick. We added heaters afterwards so the space works all year round.

We built it for our church life group. For friends. For the people we love spending time with.

Zachy and Yoshi approved it immediately.
