🌕✨ THREE FULL MOONS ARE COMING — MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
The night sky has some beautiful lunar events lined up for the coming months. From the Harvest Moon in September to the Hunter’s Moon in October and the Beaver Moon in November, three consecutive full moons will light up the night sky. 🌕
🌕 1. Harvest Moon — September 26, 2026
The September Full Moon is known as the Harvest Moon, the full moon closest to the September equinox. In India, the full moon occurs on September 26, 2026, around 10:19 PM IST.
NASA also notes that on September 26, the Harvest Moon will appear near Saturn and Neptune, making it an interesting night for skywatchers.
🌕 2. Hunter’s Moon — October 26, 2026
October’s Full Moon is traditionally called the Hunter’s Moon. The name comes from seasonal traditions in the Northern Hemisphere, when hunting was historically associated with preparing for winter.
The October Full Moon falls on October 26, 2026.
🌕 3. Beaver Moon — November 24, 2026
November’s Full Moon is commonly known as the Beaver Moon. The name is traditionally associated with beavers becoming active and preparing their winter dams around this time of year.
The November Full Moon occurs on November 24, 2026.
🔭 Why watch them?
A Full Moon is an excellent opportunity for casual skywatching and lunar photography. With binoculars or a small telescope, the Moon’s craters, bright highlands and darker maria can become much more visible.
📸 Photography Tip:
Try photographing the Moon shortly after it rises or before it sets, when the surrounding landscape can create a dramatic foreground. A tripod and manual focus can help capture sharper details.
