🚨 Victorian Property Law Changes | Episode 1

Over the past few days, you may have heard a lot about the latest changes to Victoria’s property laws from the perspective of buyers, sellers and real estate agents.

Now, let’s look at them from the conveyancer’s perspective.

There are a number of changes being introduced, but in Episode 1, we’re focusing on two key areas:
• Auction reserve prices (changes applying from 16 October 2026)
• Section 32 Vendor Statements (new requirements taking effect from 1 June 2027)

Proud to see our Founder, Shakila Wijenayake, featured on the cover of Australian Conveyancer, speaking on one of the biggest issues currently facing the profession — AML/CTF compliance.

As AUSTRAC begins taking action on businesses that have not yet enrolled, Shakila’s message to conveyancers is clear: don’t panic, but do get on the front foot.

With the new regime still unfamiliar territory for the profession, she is also calling for a practical and reasonable approach as conveyancers continue adapting to their new obligations.
