Several parks across Mandurah are being considered for renewal, with community feedback invited to help guide proposed upgrades and ensure future improvements reflect local needs.

Mississippi-Amazon Park and Marungi Park in Greenfields, Linville Reserve in Falcon and Glencoe Reserve in Halls Head are included in the City of Mandurah’s 2026/27 Parks Renewal Program. Potential works may involve refreshed playground equipment, improved pathways, new seating, landscaping and updated park amenities. Community input will help shape the final designs, with consultation for Mississippi-Amazon Park open until 2 November 2026. Feedback opportunities for the other locations will roll out progressively through 2026 and early 2027.

Residents can review the plans for their nearby park and share their thoughts before designs are finalised. Have your say and help inform future improvements.

Perth’s rental market continues to tighten, with the vacancy rate reaching its lowest level in almost two years.

After sitting at 2.2% in July and 1.9% in August, the rate fell further to 1.7% in September, a level not seen since November 2024.

Rental options remain limited, with fewer than 2,000 properties available across Perth and homes taking a median of just two weeks to lease. At the same time, four interest rate rises this year alone have added to the financial pressures facing households.

Rental supply is also being affected by several broader factors. Changes proposed by the Federal Government to negative gearing and the capital gains tax discount have contributed to concerns about investor activity, with some investors selling and fewer purchasing established properties. Meanwhile, new home construction has yet to see a stronger influx of investor interest.

A shortage of bricks is creating another hurdle, potentially pushing back the completion of new homes intended for the rental market.

With demand remaining strong and new supply facing several obstacles, Perth’s rental market continues to face mounting pressure.
