Hey all 👋
Just updating prices for 2027.
2026 has been actually way busier then expected with lots of different workers filling the house most weekdays which has been awesome. And Airbnb has been great at attracting new guests with being a Guest favourite property with perfect sub category scores 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

2027 calendar is now filling with most long weekends already booked and even got a booking for 2028 😳must be too cheap..

So last few nights been busy crunching numbers working out prices for next year and here they are….😬

The Ridge
Base Rate $230 a night (unchanged) 🎉
Extra Guests $20 per night (unchanged) 🥳
Last minute bookings within 2 weeks of staying ($200 a night) (unchanged)
Weekly discount 15% (unchanged)
Cleaning fee $0 🥸
Pet fee $0 🐶

The Grove
Base Rate $140 a night (gone up $20)
Extra guests $15 a night (gone up $5)

Have been doing a lot of renos to The Grove last few months. New roof, new ceilings, new carpet, new light fresh inside paint job and new kitchen makeover coming in February. And plenty of more improvements to come.
Well over $50k upgrades. 😧 So good reason for a bit of a price increase there…

Oh still minimum of 3 nights booking. But… will take 2 night bookings if there’s like a few day gap on calendar or if your stay is within a week.

Have been reducing some dates on the platforms just to fill the gaps and it has been working

Oh!…. You can still book through the platforms Airbnb, Stayz and Riparide. Tip…find out prices from each site for cheapest rate. Hoping airbnb will soon give a direct booking link for greater discounts for guests

New Airbnb rules come out 😂
Can’t ask guests to empty bin, wash dishes, strip bed or any cleaning to improve guests experience 😬
What are your thoughts?
I think a bit over the top… probably just trying to make more work for cleaning changeovers and hoping to increase cleaning fees so they get more fees 🤑

No big deal really just thought I would share 😊

Airbnb guests will no longer have to strip beds, wash dishes or remove rubbish when checking out, under new rules to be introduced next month.

The changes have sparked anger among hosts, with some warning the crackdown could drive up costs and push smaller operators off the platform.

The short-term rental platform announced the changes on its website. They apply to reservations booked on or after November 20.

A huge thank you to everyone who has stayed with us and taken the time to leave a review. Your feedback helps future guests find us, and we really appreciate every single one.

Over the years, we’ve worked hard to create a place where people can relax, recharge and make some great memories — whether that’s bringing the pets, enjoying a family getaway, attending a wedding at the The Gunbower Butter Factory or just get away from it all.

We also welcome workers and tradies looking for a comfortable, chilled-out place to stay while working away from home.

Gunbower is the perfect base, too. It’s quiet and uncrowded, but still has some great local places to eat:

Sad day on the farm with the passing of Buddy 💔 Old age finally caught up with you at the age of 13.

You were one of a kind, such a gentle giant, living a dog’s dream of a life 🥲

Roaming free on the farm, you welcomed literally hundreds of people and pets who came to stay with us at The Ridge and The Grove.

If you saw a vehicle drive past home suspiciously and slowly, you’d sit out the front and watch to see if they went to one of the holiday houses… then later you’d wander over, say hello to them for 5 minutes or so, mark your territory 😅 and head back home.

The sound of a basketball bouncing would automatically trigger you to go and play 😅

You were the best companion someone could ever ask for. Missing you already. We’ll never forget you, Buddy. 💔🐾

All ceilings are now up at The Grove🙌. Few more big jobs to do over the next month. New roof, new carpet, new fencing (pet-friendly) and when everything is smick, list on Airbnb and Riparide 😎

The sun has finally come out ☀️ and it looks like everyone is starting to think about holidays!

I’ve had quite a few bookings come through over the last couple of days, so if you’re thinking about a getaway at The Ridge or The Grove this year, now’s the time to lock it in before your preferred dates disappear.

A few little updates:
✅ I’ve now got an awesome cleaner helping with quick changeovers.

✅ And… I finally bought a clothes dryer for The Ridge! Only about 3 months later than I should have… 😩😂

✅ Big improvement to The Grove currently happening.

Top 1% of Airbnb homes 🏆 🍾 🥳

Still a bit surreal seeing this.

When I started putting The Ridge together, the goal was simple — create a quiet, comfortable place where people could get away, slow down, and enjoy a bit of country life in Gunbower. Nothing too fancy, just something genuine that felt good to stay in.

To now see it recognised in the Top 1% of Airbnb homes is honestly pretty unexpected… but also kind of makes sense when we think about the guests who have stayed, left feedback, and supported us along the way.

Have been really lucky with the people who’ve come through — respectful, kind, and appreciative of the space. That’s what makes a place like this work.

So this one’s really just a thank you.

**Cleaner found 🙌 **

CASUAL CLEANER WANTED

The Ridge Gunbower currently maintains excellent guest ratings and looking to keep it that way. Giving guests a 5 star experience.
I’m looking for someone to help me keep it that way.
As I juggle full-time work alongside managing the property, keeping up with changeovers is becoming increasingly difficult, so I’m seeking a reliable casual cleaner to assist between guest stays.

Typical hours: 10:30am – 2:00pm (changeover window)
$150 per changeover (approximately 3.5 hours)
All cleaning products and equipment supplied. But you can bring your own if preferred.

Couple of change overs dates coming up:
Sunday 5th July
Wednesday 8th July.
If available these dates, please apply

Duties include:
• General cleaning of house and outdoor areas
• Making beds and changing linen
• Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen
• Vacuuming and mopping floors
• Checking property presentation before guest arrival

What I’m looking for:
• Attention to detail
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Flexible availability, including some weekends and public holidays
• Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential

Ideal for: Local residents looking for casual work and flexible hours. Most common times for quick change overs will be during school holidays.
