Queensland’s private-sector house approvals rose 6.5% in August 2026 to 2,456, according to the latest ABS release. These figures are seasonally adjusted.

Total dwelling approvals across the state fell 22.5% over the same month, showing how trends can differ between dwelling types.

For buyers, these figures offer broader market context. They don’t predict what will happen to a particular suburb, house and land package or property.
