A boutique Gold Coast property developer creating timeless residential projects. Design-led, carefully delivered, and built with a long-term legacy in mind.

Some developers chase the next site. We've spent a decade getting a handful of them right. A look back at the projects that built Lacey Group's reputation on the Gold Coast - and the thinking behind them. Crafting spaces. Creating legacy.

Project File 02: Southbreak, North Kirra.

Completed in January 2020, Southbreak was an important next chapter for Lacey Group.

Set between Kirra and Bilinga, it was one of the first boutique developments in North Kirra, created at a time when the area was only just beginning to show what it could become.

The vision was clear: create a coastal address that felt calm, considered and genuinely connected to its setting.

Southbreak delivered 20 two and three-bedroom apartments, two double-storey penthouses and a residents-only rooftop sanctuary moments from the beach.

But the project was never just about the number of residences.

It was about understanding the rhythm of the place, respecting the lifestyle that draws people there and creating something that felt like it belonged.

Shaped by the shore and the village atmosphere around it, Southbreak helped set a new tone for design-led living in North Kirra.

“You do it properly, or you don’t put your name on it.”

It is a standard Adam Lacey learned from his father, and one that continues to shape the way Lacey Group builds today.

For Adam, property development is not about producing buildings and moving on. It is about crafting spaces that will continue to shape daily life for generations.

That is why the details matter.

The right site. The right people. The right decision, even when an easier option is available.

As a family business, there is no distance to hide behind. Every building carries the Lacey name, and that name asks for care, judgement and accountability at every stage.

When Lacey Group began its first Gold Coast project, the focus was clear: choose the right location, work with the right people and craft spaces with intention.

The Jefferson set the benchmark for that approach. With each project that followed, the scale has grown, but the standard has not changed.

More than 10 years on, the Gold Coast has matured into one of Australia’s most compelling lifestyle and investment markets. The city has grown in confidence, expectations have lifted, and the opportunity to create lasting places has become even more important.

For Adam Lacey, the responsibility is clear: “The most important chapter hasn’t been written yet. What gets built here over the next twenty years will help decide whether the Gold Coast becomes one of the greatest liveable coastal cities of the world, or simply a bigger version of what it used to be.”

That is the opportunity Lacey Group is focused on.

Not growth for the sake of growth, but considered projects that contribute to the character, confidence and future of the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast has grown up.

For a long time, it was seen by many as a place to visit. A holiday destination. A coastline, not a city with long-term depth.

Those who lived here always knew better.

Today, the Gold Coast is home to a more mature economy, stronger infrastructure, growing industries and a new level of confidence in its future. People are no longer choosing between lifestyle and opportunity. Here, they can have both.

For Lacey Group, this is not an outside observation. It is home.

We were building here when the belief came first and the proof came later. That local understanding continues to shape the way we select sites, plan projects and think about long-term value.

The next chapter of the Gold Coast is being written now.

What is built here over the coming decades will help define the character of the city for generations.

The right team is never chosen on price alone.

At Lacey Group, every project is shaped by the people around the table. Architects, builders, consultants and collaborators who bring the judgement, honesty and care needed to create something lasting.

For Adam Lacey, the standard is clear: “The right team brings more than expertise. It brings accountability, shared intent and a genuine respect for the outcome.”

That belief has shaped the way we build our teams.

Capability matters. But character matters just as much. The best project partners are the ones who care about the detail when no one is watching, who are prepared to challenge the thinking, and who understand that the quality of a building is set long before completion.

We’re proud to work alongside partners who share that approach, including BDA Architects, Blackdot Group, The Gild Group, Hutchinson Builders, Studio Collective, UPS and IDGLA.

A development is only ever as ambitious as the room it was created in.

Choose the right team and the project keeps improving all the way to handover.

There is a difference between building and crafting spaces.

For Lacey Group, crafting spaces asks for care, thought and intention at every stage.

It asks whether each decision is right for the people who will live there, the street that will hold it and the community that will experience it long after completion.

Each project is shaped by the choices made early. The site selected, the team brought together, the design decisions considered, and the details refined along the way.

It is not about developing property for the sake of it.

It is about crafting spaces people are proud to make their lives in, and creating places that contribute meaningfully to the neighbourhoods they become part of.

Where it all started: The Jefferson, Palm Beach.

Construction began in early 2018 on Lacey Group’s first Gold Coast address, just moments from the beach on Jefferson Lane.

At the time, Palm Beach was a stretch of coastline many overlooked. We saw what it could become, and built for it before the market caught up.

Completed in 2019, The Jefferson set the tone for what would follow.

It marked the beginning of an approach that would guide every project to come.

For Adam Lacey, it was also personal. A debut project on the Gold Coast, built in the place he calls home. The beginning of a legacy.

“The Jefferson reinforced the value of backing the right location, surrounding each project with the right people and creating something that would stand the test of time.”

More than 10 years on, the approach has not changed.

Three years. One approval. A site like no other.

Bilinga. Direct esplanade frontage overlooking North Kirra.

We've spent three years creating a design worthy of a location this rare. Council approval is now secured. The wait was worth it.

Something iconic is coming to Pacific Parade.
