🌧️Winter rain has helped boost Melbourne's water storages, but they're still below last year's levels.

While recent rainfall has boosted our catchments and increased storage levels to 69.3%, we've used more water from our storages than we've added over the past 12 months.

The Victorian Desalination Plant is continuing to play a vital role in supporting Melbourne's water supply. This winter, it supplied more than 40 billion litres of drinking water, helping reduce pressure on our dams and reservoirs while catchments recover.

💧 Without this year's desalination order, our storages would be around 2.2% lower than they are today.

With a drier spring forecast, every drop counts. Simple actions like taking shorter showers, running full loads of washing and creating water-wise gardens can all make a real difference. 🌿💙
