Here is a little project we supervised this week. Floating laminated floor installation. As you know, tiles are uneven, or unevenly placed, the grouting comes out and this leads to uneven unstable under pinning for a floating floor on top. We did the following:
1. Cleaned the floor and debris and loose grouting.
2. We then poured a self leveling screed over the existing tiles
3. Cover the screed with a plastic lining for insulation.
4. Laid the floating floor over the insulation.

The self leveling screed hides all the dips, edges and other inconsistensies that would affect a level new floor. This has proveded a level solid base for the new floor.
