🏀 PBA EYES DECEMBER GAMES AT SM SEASIDE CEBU ARENA!

Big-time Philippine basketball could be coming to Cebu! The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is eyeing the SM Seaside Cebu Arena as a possible venue for a conference semifinal or Finals game in December 2026 or in 2027. 🏆

During his visit to the CESAFI Season 26 games at the Cebu Coliseum on Saturday, October 17, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial revealed the league’s plan to bring a major PBA game to Cebu.

Marcial also disclosed that discussions have already taken place with SM Seaside Arena regarding the possibility of hosting at least a semifinal game or one of the Finals games at the massive venue.

While the plan is still being explored, the prospect of hosting a PBA semifinal or Finals game marks another exciting possibility for Cebu’s growing sports and events scene.

Will we see a PBA Finals showdown at SM Seaside Cebu Arena? Basketball fans, this could be huge for Cebu! 💙

Cebu basketball fans are in for a major treat as Gilas Pilipinas is headed to Cebu City for its home games in the February–March 2027 window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.

The Philippine national team is scheduled to face Jordan on February 26, 2027, followed by Syria on March 1, 2027, with both home games set to be played at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Executive Director Erika Dy confirmed that the national team will play outside Metro Manila for the window, bringing international basketball action closer to fans in Cebu and the rest of the Visayas.

The games will also give the new SM Seaside Cebu Arena another opportunity to host a major international sporting event, with Gilas Pilipinas taking the court in front of the passionate Cebuano basketball crowd.

Beyond the February–March window, Cebu is also expected to host other matches of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, further strengthening the city's growing role as a destination for major sporting events.

Mark your calendars: Gilas Pilipinas vs. Jordan on February 26 and Gilas Pilipinas vs. Syria on March 1, 2027 — at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena. 🇵🇭🏀
