The post below is from a dear friend who recently lost her husband, also a friend of ours. There is a lot to this post that I felt would help others as well as me.

This is Mary B: Today is Wednesday. Paul was putting up Words on Wednesday. Today I found this article that he had written with the words "Letting Go." These are good words for me today. LETTING GO!

Paul had written: These past several days have been difficult days. Loss, tragedy, pain, stupid acts by others. I don't know why, but these words by author unknown meant something to me today.

To "let go" does not mean to stop caring.
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To "let go" is not to cut myself off.
It's the realization that I can't control another.

which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To "let go" is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To "let go" is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To "let go" is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to take responsibility.
To "let go" is not to deny, but to accept.
To "let go" is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to accept my own shortcomings and correct them.
To "let go" is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish my own journey in it.
To "let go" is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To "let go" is not fear driven but love driven.
