Thermal Imaging catches a small roof leak w/ a 90-day-old new roof.Thermal imaging does not see through the roof, and it does not prove water by itself. Wet material holds and releases heat differently than dry material, so a suspicious spot on the camera is a place to check with a moisture meter, not a finished diagnosis. Water also travels. The entry point and the ceiling stain are often several feet apart.
