Gilbertsville Remodel Update — The Finish Work Begins!

Another productive week at our second-floor remodeling project in Gilbertsville!

This week, our crew painted the walls and ceilings and started working on the interior trim carpentry.

It's always a big change when fresh paint goes on. After all the structural work, mechanical rough-ins, insulation, and drywall, these rooms are finally starting to look like finished living spaces.

Now comes one of the more detailed parts of the project: finish carpentry.

We've started trimming out the windows, including some beautiful tall windows with deep recessed openings. Between the window details and the unique angles throughout this second floor, there's plenty of careful measuring, fitting, and installation ahead of us.

We'll be in this phase for a while, making sure the details come together properly.

Take a look at this week's progress photos!

Two projects, two very different scopes of work!

This week, our Marvel Builders crew has been busy across the area.

📍 **Gilbertsville, PA:** Our barn renovation continues to take shape! We've started paint preparation and primer, along with cutting in the ceiling locations for the lighting fixtures. It's exciting to see this space moving toward the finishing stages.

📍 **Pottstown, PA:** On the commercial side, we've been constructing rooftop curbing and integrating it with the existing TPO roofing system for new rooftop HVAC units. This is part of the preparation for an upcoming clean room construction project.

From detailed residential renovations to specialized commercial construction, it's all about doing the job right.

A little more room to park!

We were recently out to a property in Douglassville to widen the existing parking area and give the driveway a fresh coat of blacktop.

The additional space makes parking and getting vehicles in and out of the garage a whole lot easier and gives room for delivery drivers to turn around.

Sometimes the smaller improvements make a big difference!

Another project wrapped up in Douglassville, PA.

A 25-cent piece of flashing could have saved this homeowner thousands of dollars.

A small detail overlooked during construction led to years of hidden water damage, rotten framing, and some pretty extensive repairs.

It's a good reminder that the things you don't see in construction are often the most important.

Ignorance is cheap. Fixing it isn't.

Check out this week's blog for the full story and photos.

Big progress this week at our Gilbertsville renovation.

Insulation is finished, the drywall showed up by boom truck, and we’re starting to hang board. After weeks of framing and rough-ins, the new spaces are finally starting to look like rooms again.

Another good week of progress on our Gilbertsville barn remodel. We wrapped up the framing and blocking details, finished the electrical, plumbing and HVAC rough-ins, and went through our pre-insulation checks.

A lot of the little details we handle now—like marking utility locations before everything gets covered up—make life a whole lot easier when it’s time for finishes.

Next up: insulation and drywall. Things are about to start looking a lot different!

We’re moving right along on our Gilbertsville barn remodel! Electrical and lighting, HVAC, and plumbing rough-ins are all continuing as we get closer to insulation and drywall.

Custom remodeling takes time, and we’re happy to put that time into getting the details right. The work behind the walls is just as important as the finishes you see when the project is complete.

Follow along as this old barn continues to take shape!
