Congratulations to our team member, Catherin Chacon Ortega! Catheryn Chacon
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Catherin Chacon Ortega, who has been selected as a 2026 Latino Excellence on the Hill honoree by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.
Originally from Colombia, Catherin arrived in the Berkshires at the age of 15 and has since built an inspiring life dedicated to professional excellence, education, family, and community service.
Catherin is a Tax Accountant at Smith Watson & Company and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Accounting from UMass Amherst. She also serves her community through leadership roles with Berkshire Community College, Greylock Federal Credit Union, the Literacy Network of South Berkshire County, and as a co-founder and Financial Advisor of Latinas413.
This recognition, nominated by Rep. Leigh Davis, celebrates not only Catherin’s professional accomplishments, but also her commitment to creating opportunities and empowering others.
