→ Automate the repetitive, not the hospitality.
Set up automated booking confirmations, check-in instructions, checkout reminders and FAQs. But don’t rely on automation for everything. Guests can tell when every response feels canned. Someone still needs to step in when the situation requires an actual human.
→ Create a system for every repeatable task.
Your cleaner shouldn’t have to guess how the home should be reset. Your maintenance team shouldn’t be figuring out who to call every time something breaks. Build checklists and clear processes for turnovers, inspections, supplies, maintenance and guest issues.
→ Stop treating pricing like a one-time decision.
Rates should move with demand, seasonality, local events, booking pace and your remaining availability. A weekend that isn’t booking may need a completely different strategy than the same weekend did two weeks ago.
→ Inspect what you expect.
A completed cleaning doesn’t automatically mean a guest-ready home. Check presentation, inventory, damage, maintenance issues and the little details guests notice before they ever have the chance to mention them in a review.
→ Track patterns, not just problems.
One guest mentioning something might be an isolated issue. Three guests mentioning it is data. Reviews, maintenance requests, booking behavior and guest questions can tell you exactly where your property needs attention.
You can build all of these systems yourself.
You can manage the pricing.
Coordinate the vendors.
Check the turnovers.
Answer the guests.
Watch the calendar.
Follow up on maintenance.
And continuously figure out what needs to change.
Or you can own the property without operating it.
That’s where Tangy comes in.
We build the systems, manage the moving pieces and stay close enough to the property to catch the things software can’t.
You own it. We run it. 🍊
