Hey friends! Happy Friday! ๐
We made it to the weekend, and not just any weekend. It's Halloween weekend in Acadiana!
Before everybody gets busy with costumes, candy, festivals, and figuring out how we're already at the end of October, can we talk about something for a minute?
I think a whole lot of homeowners around Acadiana would be surprised to find out what their house might actually sell for today.
And I'm not talking about the number some website spits out after you've entered your address.
I'm talking about what a real buyer might be willing to pay for YOUR house, in YOUR neighborhood, in its current condition.
Here's what's interesting...
I talk to homeowners all the time who have absolutely no intention of selling. But when we start discussing what their home could be worth and how much equity they've built, the conversation gets a little more interesting.
Because sometimes the house you bought 8, 10, or 15 years ago isn't necessarily the house that fits your life today.
Maybe the kids have moved out, and you're heating and cooling rooms nobody has walked into since Easter.
Maybe you've added a few kids, a couple of dogs, and enough belongings to open your own resale shop.
Or maybe you're just tired of maintaining a house that's bigger than you need.
Here's the thing, though.
You don't have to WANT to sell your house to benefit from knowing what it's worth.
Your home equity can play a role in some pretty important financial decisions, whether that's purchasing another home, making improvements, or simply planning for the future.
And knowing what your house could sell for doesn't mean you have to put a sign in the yard next Tuesday.
Sometimes it's just good information to have.
So here's my Friday question for you:
If someone showed up tomorrow with the right offer for your house, would you sell it?
I'm genuinely curious how many of you would say yes!
And if you're wondering what your home might realistically sell for in today's Acadiana market, just reply to this email with your address.
I'll be happy to take a look.
No pressure. No awkward sales pitch. Just a little real estate information from your favorite neighborhood house lady. ๐
๐ WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND LAFAYETTE THIS HALLOWEEN WEEKEND?
It's Friday, the weekend is officially here, and Acadiana has plenty going on!
๐ถ SOUTH LOUISIANA BLACKPOT FESTIVAL & COOKOFF
Friday & Saturday, October 30โ31 | Vermilionville, Lafayette
If you've never been to Blackpot, you're missing out on some good Louisiana culture!
We're talking live Cajun music, dancing, cooking, and plenty of delicious food.
This is one of those events that reminds you why living in South Louisiana is pretty special.
๐ถ๏ธ CARENCRO C'EST BON SEASONING FEST
FridayโSunday, October 30โNovember 1 | Pelican Park, Carencro
A whole festival celebrating the flavors that make Louisiana cooking what it is?
Now THAT sounds like something we can get behind!
Expect delicious food, live music, entertainment, and plenty of Acadiana flavor.
And let's be honest, we're from Louisiana. We don't need much convincing to attend something involving food and a good time.
๐ฟ FARMERS & ARTISANS MARKET AT MONCUS PARK
Saturday, October 31 | 8 AMโNoon
If you're looking for a relaxing Saturday morning before the Halloween excitement begins, head over to Moncus Park.
Grab your coffee, browse local produce and handmade goodies, and enjoy a little fresh air.
There's also a Cajun jam happening, so you can start your Saturday morning the Louisiana way!
๐จ HALLOWEEN ART & NATURE FESTIVAL
Saturday, October 31 | Atelier de la Nature, Arnaudville
Looking for something a little different this Halloween?
This family-friendly festival combines Halloween with art, nature, science, performances, and some wonderfully strange creatures.
It's a fun way to spend time outdoors, get creative, and let the kids explore something beyond their candy buckets.
๐ป HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREATING
Saturday, October 31 | 6โ8 PM in Lafayette
Get those costumes ready!
Lafayette's designated trick-or-treat hours are Saturday evening from 6โ8 PM.
If you're heading out with the kids, remember to watch for little ones crossing the street, and keep those porch lights on if you're handing out candy.
And if you see a tiny dinosaur, princess, or superhero wandering up your driveway, remember that some of those costumes have VERY limited visibility. ๐
A LITTLE FRIDAY REMINDER...
Whatever your plans are this weekend, I hope you get out and enjoy a little of what makes Acadiana home.
Support something local, make some memories, spend time with your people, and eat at least one thing that probably isn't on your doctor's recommended list.
And if you happen to drive past a house with a FOR SALE sign and start wondering what yours could sell for...
Well, you know who to call. ๐
Whether you're buying, selling, investing, or just curious about what's happening in your neighborhood, I'm always happy to talk real estate.
Happy Friday and Happy Halloween, Acadiana! ๐
Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy your weekend!
