You know the tile feels loose. You know water has gotten behind the tile. You’ve waited a few years because you have other home projects you’re working on. And as you clean the tile you know it’s time.

We see a lot of deferred maintenance in the homes we inspect. Water is damaging. It can be costly.

You don’t have to be buying a home to get your home inspected. Home health inspections are important to do every few years! This give you a check list of items that need to be done to keep your home in tip top shape!

Brand-new house, but that doesn’t mean everything is perfect! 🏡

Drew found this water heater in a new build without a dedicated shutoff valve on the cold water supply line.

Why does that matter? If the water heater needs to be serviced, replaced, or there’s a leak, you should be able to shut off the water going into it without having to turn off the water to the entire house.

It’s a pretty simple detail, but definitely something you’d rather have taken care of before moving in!

This is why we always recommend having your new construction home inspected. Even brand-new homes can have things that get missed!

New doesn’t always mean problem-free!

Home inspections can feel overwhelming if you don’t know what to expect.

The truth is, your inspector will probably find things. Some may be maintenance items, some may need further evaluation, and some may be more important than others. That doesn’t automatically mean the house is a bad house.

A home doesn’t have to be perfect to be a good home. You just deserve to understand what you’re buying.
